Letter to MOM and DAD

DAD

I don’t even know where to begin, because you have been the very definition of life itself—lessons, growth, love, humility, leadership, maturity, resilience, wisdom, knowledge, and so much more.

I have watched you grow, adapt, and interact with the world, and I’ve learned from every step you’ve taken. I still remember the day I got circumcised. You sat me down and told me words that have stayed with me ever since. You said:

“Son, you are a man now, but being circumcised doesn’t make you a man. It’s the responsibilities, duties, decisions, and plans you make that will define you—and more importantly, the kind of man you will be. Every day is a new day to learn what to do and what not to do. Do not be afraid to fail, and do not be afraid of people.”

Sixteen years later, I finally understand the depth of what you meant. I’m at a point in life where things feel like they’re falling apart and growing at the same time. Some days I don’t know what to do, but somehow, I always find my way—and that’s because of you.

You taught me the true meaning of relationships—not just family, but friendships and the people we meet along the way. You taught me how to live and interact with people of all ages and stages of life. You showed me the importance of family and the real weight of sacrifice. You taught me what self‑awareness looks like in a man.

And today, I just want to say THANK YOU. You are a true warrior. May the Lord guide and protect you, and may you enjoy your remaining years in peace, strength, and joy.

MOM

You are the definition of life in all its shapes, sizes, and forms. Love, humility, respect, and kindness are your languages. You are a true woman of VALOR.

You taught me the real meaning of love, and you showed me what family and togetherness truly look like. I have watched you fight battles that were far too heavy for one person, yet you never gave up. I have seen you at your lowest, but you never let those moments define you.

Every time we speak, you never forget to tell me, “My son, be happy.” And through you, I have learned what happiness really means.

You have sacrificed so much just to see us become who we are today. You taught me when to speak and when to stay silent. The wisdom and knowledge you carry are immeasurable.

There is so much I could say, but my prayer is simple: May the Lord guide and protect you in all your endeavors, and may you enjoy life to the fullest.

THANK YOU.
